Olivier Boucher, Climatologist, Deputy Director Institut-Pierre-Simon Laplace, Member of the AXA Research Fund Scientific Board and Isabelle Bergeron, Head of Communications at the AXA Research Fund share perspectives on Science and policy interaction with regards to fighting climate change.

Hosted during AXA’s Corporate Responsibility Week by journalist Anette Burgdorf the talk discusses how science can provide the way forward on the issue of Climate Change and what role the private sector and private funding initiatives such as the AXA Research Fund play alongside public authorities to ensure climate change is top of the agenda.

Olivier Boucher

Dr. Olivier Boucher's research focuses on the physics of climate change and bridges links to much-needed work on climate change impacts and mitigation pathways. Dr. Boucher is a specialist on atmospheric aerosols and how they affect meteorology and climate or can be used for geoengineering the climate system. His work received many awards from the Prix Prud'homme in 1995 and the CNRS Bronze medal in 2000 to the Outstanding Young Scientist Award of the EGU in 2004 and the Harry Otten prize in 2015. Olivier has been heavily involved in the International Panel of Climate Change, lastly as a coordinator lead author for the “Clouds and Aerosols” chapter of the IPCC fifth assessment report.
